Welcome to the Interstate 880 (I-880) Corridor Improvement Project Website. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is working to improve the safety and comfort of travelers using I-880, a freeway in the San Francisco Bay Area that runs roughly 50 miles from Oakland to San Jose, CA. The I-880 Corridor Improvement Project includes eight separate construction projects located in a 15-mile segment of the freeway between Oakland and Hayward and will take place over an eight-year period.
